Superwash Merino Lace Yarn

Description:

SW Merino Lace has a 2/16nm construction giving 800m (874 yds) per 100g hank and made purely with soft  (21 micron) merino wool. It has been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore will not ‘felt’ when dyed or washed. It is a great yarn for an easy-care garment. The wool is mulesing free and comes from South America. Merino is extremely fine and has natural elasticity which helps a garment stretch yet return back to its original shape. Merino is also a great insulator which helps the body regulate its temperature in both hot and cold conditions.

The yarn is 100% animal fibre and perfect for dyeing. The yarn is a bright white colour and would dye up well in subtle light shades or bright and vibrant colours. For bright vibrant colours we recommend using acid or natural dyes. Superwash Merino Lace is especially suited to weaving, crochet and lace knitting; making scarves, shawls, wraps and baby garments. With 800m per skein, many projects will only need one making it great value for money.

This is a super fine and lightweight yarn. Although Fine Lace and Baby Silk Lace have the same length, the Baby Silk Lace just feels more delicate and lighter. I would not recommend it for Lace beginners, but for those who can knit lace it is perfect!  This yarn is a dream for large shawls!
