Description:

Merino Silk DK is 4/9nm giving 225m (246 yds) per 100g and a perfect blend of soft 21 micron merino wool and mulberry silk. Merino wool has natural elasticity which helps a garment stretch yet return back to its original shape while also being warm and soft to touch. We have used 21 micron merino which is not itchy or scratchy next to the skins. The silk gives it a shiny smooth lustre that feels soft and luxurious to work with. With 225m (246 yds) per 100g, it is a standard DK weight and can be used in many patterns using this weight yarn. Perfect for those projects deserving a little extra than a pure wool yarn.

​The merino is mulesing free and comes from South America. The yarn is 100% animal fibre and perfect for dyeing. It has a good bright colour so can be dyed in light or pastel shades. To be successful in creating bright and vibrant colours we recommend using acid or natural dyes.
