Woollen Spun Corriedale 300 is a non-superwash 100% Corriedale wool yarn that is woollen spun, making it warm, light and lofty. The ‘300’ in its name would suggest a sport weight yarn however, due to its woollen spun construction, the yarn will knit more to a DK/worsted weight (hence why we include it in our DK/worsted weight category). You get around 30% more yardage per 100g than a typical worsted spun DK/worsted weight yarn, making this an excellent value pure Corriedale wool yarn.

South American Corriedale is a snuggly wool with a long, strong staple and beautiful crimp and shine. Being untreated, the wool retains all its natural characteristics. Garments made in Woollen Spun Corriedale 300 will be lightweight and keep their shape well. The yarn’s characteristics make it perfect for sweaters of all kinds, stranded colourwork and cable knits.

Woollen Spun Corriedale 300 can be knitted on a variety of needle diameters, depending on the garment type and desired effect:

• 4 – 4.5mm (US 6-7) needles: 18 – 19 sts in 10cm/4” creates a robust, durable knitted fabric, ideal for men’s knitwear and home accessories.
• 5mm (US 8) needles: 17sts in 10cm/4” for all types of sweaters and cardigans.
• 5½mm (US 9)needles: 16 sts in 10cm /4” for cable knits and stranded colourwork.
• 6mm (US 10) needles: 15 sts in 10cm/4” – for shawls and projects requiring a looser, more flowing fabric.
