Woollen Spun Corriedale 450 is a 100% non-superwash Corriedale wool yarn that is woollen spun, making it warm, light and lofty. The ‘450’ in its name would suggest a 4 ply / light fingering weight yarn however, due to its woollen spun construction, the yarn will knit more to a sport weight. You get around 30% more yardage per 100g than a typical worsted spun 4 ply / fingering yarn, making this an excellent value pure Corriedale wool yarn.

South American Corriedale is a snuggly wool with a long, strong staple and beautiful crimp and shine. Being untreated, the wool retains all its natural characteristics. Garments and accessories made in Woollen Spun Corriedale 450 will be lightweight, durable and keep their shape well. Woollen Spun Corriedale 450 can be knitted on a variety of needle diameters, depending on the project type and desired effect:

3 mm (US 2) needles – 24 sts x 38 rows in 10cm (4”) – fine gauge knits needing extra durability, e.g. Fair Isle / stranded colourwork garments and accessories.

3.5 mm (US 4) needles – 22 sts x 34 rows 10cm (4”) – hats, gloves, mittens and other accessories knitted in cables and other textured patterns.
